Cathy Setlogelo

Cathy Setlogelo is Swazi born and went to a convent boarding school: Our Lady of Sorrows, where she matriculated and then went on to study at the then University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.  After university she went into the then unknown world of hospitality almost by chance, after training as a high school teacher, she spent 12 years working in this exciting industry in Swaziland.

Cathy had opportunity to work for a while in England and recalls her time there well. She moved to Johannesburg in 1984 to work for a new Hospitality Group: Sun International. Her responsibilities at this company ranged in time from producing and documenting operating standards, processes and procedures for the hotels to documenting operating specifications for the development of computer systems for  hotels’ front office administration. The systems implementation and training of staff also formed part of her responsibilities and so her 26 years at the Head Office were totally filled and she was completely in her element. She worked at Sun International until her retirement at the age of 61.

After a 9 month sabbatical, she is now the Residence Manager at Trinity House Catholic Residence – she claims, “a better position I could not have arranged, or asked for in my days of retirement – completely fulfilling”.

Cathy is a parishioner at Holy Trinity, married and blessed with 3 loving children and one delightful grandson. Having spent 10 years at a convent boarding school it is very easy be around the parish every day which is where the Trinity House Residence is situated.
