Lenten Recollection Day
The Parish Lenten Recollection Day will be on the 12th of April, beginning at 09h30. Fr Russell will lead this. The day will end with a Penitential Service and individual confessions starting at 12h30; even those who do not attend the recollection are invited to the Lenten Penitential Service. Kindly note that there will be NO confessions on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
Palm Sunday
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. The solemn blessing of Palms will be at the 09h30 Mass. Please note that Mass will start outside the front of the Church’s main door.
Egg Trays
For the Easter Vigil, we need empty egg trays. We ask that, if you can, you bring the egg trays to the Church before Good Friday. Thank you!
Paschal Meal
Will be on Tuesday 15th April at 18h00. Prices are as follows: R550 for a family, R450 for a couple, R250 single adult, R180 for students. Tickets will be sold at all masses and available at the parish office. For more information, please contact Prudence Xaba on 082 448 6067
Readings of Year A
Because we have RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) candidates at Holy Trinity who are being welcomed into the Church at Easter, the Rite prescribes we use the readings of Year A for the 3rd,4th,5th Sundays of Lent.
Alpha Course
Have you ever participated in the Alpha Course? If so, please join the parish alpha team by emailing alpha@trinityjhb.co.za to express your interest. We are planning to organise one shortly.
St. Vincent de Paul Donations Box
As we journey through Lent, let us embrace the spirit of almsgiving. Each day, set aside one item to donate to our less fortunate community and bring your sacrificed essentials to be placed in the box on the Altar every day. These items may include non-perishable foods like canned foods, lentils, rice, maize meal, as well as toiletries like soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, roll on, deodorant, Vaseline, lotion or any personal hygiene essentials for all those in need. Support us in helping all in need with your small acts of kindness, which will make a difference in their lives.
Beading Group
Sr. Joy would like to start a beading group in our parish to make jewellery to raise funds for the parish stained-glass window project. The group will meet every Tuesday at 10h00 in the church. All are welcome!
Baptism
All parishioners wishing to baptise their babies/children should fill out this FORM. The parish will then contact you to schedule an appointment with Fr. Russell. The next baptism class is on 26 April 2025, and the sacrament will be administered on 3rd May 2025.
The Pope’s Prayer Intention for April
We pray with Pope Francis that the use of new technologies will not replace human relationships, will respect the dignity of the person and will help us face the crises of our times.
Let us pray for the sick
Let us pray for all the sick of the parish. Should you wish to have names added to the list, please email the parish office. We pray, especially for Jenny Howard, Rev Billy Davies, Yvonne Von Mayer, Sarah, Pope Francis and Estelle Earl.
