The Community of Sant’Egidio
are hosting a Christmas Lunch for Children on Christmas Eve at 12h30pm. People are encouraged to bring any wrapped toys for children aged between 5-12 years, cooldrinks, snacks, cake or ice-cream. Please drop these off at the Church before midday. If you would like to help, please arrive before midday and ask to speak to Mpho Bokgwathile or Harold Dinis, and they will be able to tell you what needs doing.

Similarly, Sant’Egidio are hosting a Christmas Lunch for the Homeless on Christmas Day at 12h30pm. Any meat (cooked or uncooked) can be dropped off today (between 8am-5pm) or tomorrow (between 10am-12pm). Also, care packs containing Toiletries (e.g. toothbrush, soap, face-cloth, roll-on) can be delivered.

On Monday, 26th December 2016, we will have our usual soup kitchen on Monday evening at 6pm. It is organised by our local Society of St Vincent De Paul. We serve soup and bread – but if you have any bones left over from Christmas that would make the soup taste even better, please drop those bones off before 2pm on Monday – or anything that would go well as an ingredient for soup, or bread rolls etc. Alternatively, if you have Poloney (a firm favourite) or any meat that can be prepared and added to the soup bring that at 5pm. We welcome volunteers. If you would like to help with handing out food and distributing, preparing, cooking, cleaning, etc. please come at 5pm where we will have a short briefing and explain everyone’s roles, and setup together, and then serve between 6pm and 7pm. If parents would like to bring older teenagers that would be fine so long as they are accompanied by their parents or an adult. This Monday evening soup kitchen runs every week. So if you would like to get involved or support us in this weekly feeding scheme that would be a huge help.
