Our Pilgrimage of Mercy began on Saturday 8th October 2016 at 09h00 where we proceeded to share lunch with the people that we visited at Ikhaya Lethemba, a home for abused women and children in Braamfontein. Ikhaya Lethemba is the provincial flagship project of the Dept of Community Safety and is based in Braamfontein.  It is a One Stop Centre for female victims of crime and violence.  The shelter can accommodate 120 women and children for a period of up to 9 months. The parish brought donations of food and clothing and spent some time listening to the clients and their children. After lunch we returned to the Church to proceed by car to the Cathedral to celebrate Mass at 13h00 after walking through the Door of Mercy together.
