Jesuits get a digital boost
As you know Holy Trinity is a parish served by the Jesuit order; also known as the Society of Jesus. Today, 27 July 2001, we celebrate the feast of Saint Ignatius in all of our parishes around the country even though it’s only on the 31st of July, officially. We would like to commemorate the feast this year with the launch of our new website.Visit the website www.jesuits.org.za
As you might have realised, we have had the same website for a number of years and have failed to keep it up-to-date because it was designed in such a way that made it difficult to do so. We have really taken a long time, over a year, to think and plan our way through this new website which we are now very proud to launch.
We needed a website that was pleasing to the eye and attractive but also functional and really easy to keep current. We hope that you will like what we’ve come up with: it is integrated with the major social media networks and our Facebook page (/sajesuits) is updated every day – sometimes several times a day. It is built using an industry-standard content management system, WordPress which makes it really easy for us to add content. We also tweet regularly using @sajesuits handle. If you’re not on Facebook and or Twitter, don’t worry… we post everything to our new homepage!
On our site you will find all the information you want about the Jesuits: our history in South Africa and internationally, our spirituality, what work Jesuits are up to in our beautiful country and what events Jesuits and those who work closely with us are organising. That’s enough from me – why don’t you click on over to our new site now. Remember to tell us what you think by leaving a comment on one of our stories or on our social networks… If you don’t want the world to know what you think then email us privately on info@sj.org.za. We would love to hear from you.
