Africa Trailrun UPDATE
There is just over two weeks to go before the AfricaX – 16-18 March 2012! More and more parishioners and friends of Trinity have pledged their support and we now have a total of R58,500.00 pledged! A big thank to all those who have already pledged, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
If you have not had a chance to pledge yet I ask that you seriously consider joining many of the people in the Parish who have already done so. I appeal to all parishioners to get involved – every little bit counts! Being part of the Parish community is about getting involved and so I appeal to every member of Trinity to help us. I am still hoping that we can raise R200,000.00 through your generosity. Getting involved in this venture is also a sign of your commitment to the Parish and local Church. I am moved by many people – from outside of the Parish – who have generously offered assistance and am hoping that this will encourage those who are members of Trinity to respond as well. If 500 parishioners pledge R5 p/km we would be able to raise R225,000.00! There are approximately 1200 people who attend weekend masses – we can do this together and so I appeal to you to get involved and help Holy Trinity!
Monies need not be paid before the trail. When you do make payment please deposit the money into the Parish bank account (Standard Bank Braamfontein: 004805 Acc Name: Holy Trinity Catholic Church Acc Number: 002294192) and mark it “AfricaX”.
Last week I mentioned that we had started an online registration system for the parish. If you have not signed up please make sure that you do. We will, very soon, begin to use that database more effectively to keep you updated on life in our community. Simply go to the homepage of the parish and click on the “sign up here” tab. You will find the website at trinityjhb.co.za
Training this week has been good – after last week’s setback. This coming Saturday I will be doing 32kms in preparation for the AfricaX. This Friday marks two weeks before that trail begins!
Regular updates on our fundraising for AfricaX can be found on twitter (rpollittsj) and on the parish website and Facebook page.
Thank you, once again, to all those who have responded generously to my request. For further information you can email me – frrussell@trinityjhb.co.za or Kelsey – parish@trinityjhb.co.za
Best Wishes
