AfricaX Update Final
The AfricaX Challenge begins this Friday – 16 March. I am now into the final preparations for the run and depart for the Western Cape on Wednesday morning. There is a pre-race briefing on Thursday and the gun will go at 07h00 on
Friday!
Thank you to all those who have continued to generously donate and get involved in this fund-raising effort. A total of R71,880.00 has now been pledged from Parishioners and friends of Holy Trinity – R10,000 up from last week! We appreciate your generosity and willingness to get involved here at Trinity.
If you have not pledged there is still time – please consider making a contribution this week. This is the last time we will be appealing to you for your support for Share the Load. A good number of people in the Parish have got involved, a good number have not. We appeal to all those who have given nothing to consider making a pledge.
Remember: every little bit counts! By pledging towards our fundraising efforts you are showing your support and commitment to Holy Trinity and the local church. It has been incredible to see how many students have come forward to make a contribution – some a small pledge per km and others a once off donation. Please, please, please show your commitment to Trinity and pledge or donate TODAY!
Please note that monies need not be paid before the trail. When you do make payment please deposit the money into the Parish bank account (Standard Bank Braamfontein: 004805 Acc Name: Holy Trinity Catholic Church Acc Number: 002294192) AND MARK IT CLEARLY “AfricaX”.
On Sunday I ran the last of my longer runs before the race begins – the Remax Challenge in Edenvale – 21,1kms. It was a flat course with few hills – much less strenuous than the Sunrise Monster in Pretoria last weekend!
For regular updates from the AfricaX Challenge (and hopefully a picture or two) follow me on twitter – rpollittsj. I will attempt to post some information each day pending reception in the mountains of the Western Cape! For those who are not “tweeters” the tweet feed will update onto the homepage of the parish – trinityjhb.co.za
Grateful thanks to all those who have been so generous to Trinity. If you have not been able to give yet please try to get involved and make a pledge or donation TODAY!
Best Wishes and many blessings!
